Hello NES families! My name is Yamira Turner and this is my third year living in Georgia and working at NES. I moved to Georgia from Wyoming in 2020, in order to be near my family. I received my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1997 from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I have taught multiple grade levels, with the most recent being Kindergarten, from 2014-2020. I am very excited about teaching first grade this year!

I grew up as an Air Force "brat" and have had the pleasure of living in 10 different states and 4 different countries. I have 3 amazing children: Micah, 22; Trey, 20; and Mia, 14. Micah just moved to Georgia this summer! Trey is a Firefighter in the United States Air Force and is currently stationed at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. Mia is starting her first year of high school at Veterans. Mia plays Volleyball for Veterans and keeps me very busy with her travel volleyball team as well. Go Warhawks!
