Mrs. Brown is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and a product of the Gwinnett County School System. She briefly lived in Charleston, West Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, Master of Education in Leadership, and Specialist of Education in Leadership. She also holds endorsements in Instructional Coaching, Gifted, Math, and Science.

Mrs. Brown met her husband, Robert, in Macon, Georgia, applied for a teaching job in Houston County, and has been teaching at Northside Elementary School since 1996. She was the 2006-2007 NES Teacher of the Year, the 2016 STEM Teacher of the Year, and a 2020 13WMAZ My Teacher is Tops recipient.  

She is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Kathryn and Madison, both of whom attended Northside Elementary School. Kathryn attends the University of Georgia, while Madison attends Northside High School.
