Michelle Epperson attended Eastern Kentucky University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree 1986. She met her husband while attending EKU. After graduation her husband joined the United States Air Force, and they were stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. She began teaching second grade at Alice Drive Elementary. Her son Kyle was born during the 4 years teaching in South Carolina. Her husband then transferred into the military reserves and a civilian position at Robins Air Force base. Michelle had her daughter Jamie after moving to Warner Robins. She decided to remain at home for 2 years to look after her young children. She then returned to teaching at Northside Elementary with her own children joining her at NES. She later spent a year obtaining her at- risk endorsement while teaching second grade. A few years later, she started a year and a half of training to become certified to teach Gifted Education. She has taught both first and second grade GTE classes at Northside Elementary. This will be her 27th year teaching at NES. She will be celebrating her 35th wedding anniversary in August.
