Bio
Hello and welcome to Northside Elementary School! I have been fortunate to teach both second and third grades here at Northside and work alongside incredible educators. I am looking forward, with great excitement, to being the ESOL teacher (English to Speakers of Other Languages) for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Together we can, through teamwork, among teachers, families, and students, build bridges of language and understanding so that every student has the opportunity to learn, succeed and thrive.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Marist College in New York, teaching certification from Old Dominion University in Virginia, and my ESOL endorsement here in Georgia. Previously, I taught second grade for many years at a public school in Chesapeake, Virginia where I was honored to be their Teacher of the Year in 2016.
My family and I were fortunate to move to this area after my husband retired from the military. HIs career as a U.S. Navy SEAL gave our family many wonderful opportunities, one of which was living in Europe. While there, we traveled extensively and were fortunate to experience many different languages and cultures. This unique experience fueled my passion to become an ESOL teacher and I am looking forward to growing life long learners this school year!
