Biography
Mrs. Rebecca Oakley is a proud product of
the Houston County School System. She attended Miller Elementary, Bert Rumble Middle
School, and graduated from Warner Robins High School. Mrs. Oakley received her
Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from Mercer University. Later,
she returned to school to earn her master's and specialist degrees in middle grades
education and educational leadership from Valdosta State University. She
additionally holds a Gifted and Teacher Support Specialist Endorsement through
Middle Georgia RESA.
In 2005, Mrs. Oakley began her teaching
career. She has taught at Feagin Mill Middle School, Warner Robins Middle School, and Mossy Creek
Middle School. Mrs. Oakley has served as a team leader, member of the Better
Seeking Team, leadership team, the department chair for science, science
curriculum writer and ambassador, as well as coaching cheer. In 2011, Mrs.
Oakley was named the Warner Robins Middle School Teacher of the Year and the
Houston County System Teacher of the Year. In 2015, she was also named AFA STEM
teacher of the year. Mrs. Oakley has served as the Assistant Principal of
Instruction at Northside Elementary School since 2016.
She is married to Russell Oakley, and
together they have two children. Mrs. Oakley is extremely excited to
serve the students, teachers, and families of Northside Elementary School.
